Janet was born on October 17, 1939 in Altoona, Pennsylvania to Virgil Hayes and Thelma Mae. After High School she moved to Baltimore, where she was a telephone operator until she married the love of her life on July 22, 1961.
She fulfilled her dream of being a wife and mother and gladly welcomed all who came through her door.
She was an avid reader from a very young age and shared the love of books with her children and grandchildren.
She had a very creative side that came out in her baking of birthday/wedding cakes, sewing and painting ceramics.
Janet loved sharing about her heavenly Father. Sunday school was one of the ways she was able to do that along with the Good News clubs in her home.
God put a love for music in her heart as a teen and it followed her throughout her adult life. She would often sing in the church choir and enjoy teaching the children songs on how much Jesus loved them.
