Janice Hope Jernigan Bruderer, age 59 passed away October 23, 2013. She was born on October 10, 1954 in Memphis, Tennessee, the third child of Lois Elaine and Thomas Isaiah Jernigan. Janice had a sharp eye for beauty in all its forms and spent much time and effort in creating things of beauty; having a great knack for arranging flowers, and sharing those items with others as precious gifts of love. Janice lived a very Christ-like life as she was always in service to others, giving of herself totally and freely. Being ever mindful of her mother’s needs and comfort, Janice took great joy in helping and serving her dear mother. Janice also had a great love for ALL of God’s creations, especially the helpless and defenseless, even animals, that seemed to be at every turn. There are many cats and dogs, as well as other animals, which were rescued by this loving, caring, and beautiful woman. Her elementary school years were Jacksonville Arkansas Elementary, Jr. High and High School years at Caldwell High School, Columbus, Mississippi. Janice pursued an associate’s degree in nursing studies at St. Philips Community College, San Antonio, Texas. Janice met Benjamin Bruderer in San Antonio, Tx. and after a brief courtship, married on April 6, 1996. They were the love of each other’s lives, and spent many happy hours and days in their years together. The very loving and sharing nature of Janice brought a keen disappointment to her in not having been able to have children to enrich and share hers and Ben’s lives. Janice was preceded in death by her father, Thomas Isaiah Jernigan, a nephew, Steven Legere, Brother in law, David Legere, and step son, Eric Bruderer. Survivors include her Husband, Benjamin Bruderer of San Antonio; Mother, Lois Elaine Jernigan of Columbus, Mississippi; and her siblings, including sisters: Judith Elaine Rodriguez, and Gail Legere; brothers: Keith A Jernigan, Brian Craig Jernigan, and Joseph Blake Jernigan, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives.
