

Captain Jennifer Ann Burgin, U.S. Army Veteran, age 52, originally of Sheboygan, WI, passed away in San Antonio, Texas on September 17th, 2015. She graduated from Sheboygan North High School in 1981 and graduated with special honors from Mt. Mary College in 1985. Jennifer served three of her four years in the Army as a 1st Lt. and completed her last four years of military service in the Reserves. She attained Sharpshooter status while in the military and served her internship as an Occupational Therapist at Walter Reed Hospital in Washington, D.C. and she also was stationed at Fort Gordon in Augusta, Georgia. Her career as an Occupational Therapist spanned over thirty years specializing in Hand Therapy Care. Jenny enjoyed teaching people new to her profession and was a welcoming and adventurous person. She will be greatly missed. She is preceded in death by her father, Raymond H. Burgin. Survivors include her daughter, Kathryn Choumitsky and husband Nicolas; mother, Dolores Bell Burgin; siblings, Maureen Louisa and husband Henry, Susan Urner-Herman and husband James, Thomas Burgin and wife Susan, Lori Retzloff and husband Richard; step-son Matthew Cooney and wife Mimi Milo-Cooney; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives. Visitation will be held Friday, September 25, 2015 at 10:00 A. M. at Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church 818 Huron Avenue, Sheboygan, Wisconsin 53081. Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 A.M. following the visitation. Interment will be Calvary Cemetery in Sheboygan, Wisconsin. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Parkinson’s Foundation at www.parkinson.org as Jenny’s beloved father struggled with this disease or to the National Alliance on Mental Illness at www.nami.org.
