

He dropped out of school after his sophomore year and joined the U.S. Army Air Force at 16 years of age. He served 27 ½ years in what later became U.S. Air Force. He spent his enlisted career as an Air Force Policeman. During his career he served on 10 Stateside and 6 Foreign bases, two of which were Danang and Vietnam. His military awards include the Bronze Star Medal, Air Force Commendation Medal and 5 Army Good Conduct Medals as well as numerous other medals and awards.
Following his retirement from the Air Force, Joe obtained a real estate license and spent 48 years as a REALTOR®. Coupled with his real estate career, he spent 25 years teaching real estate at San Antonio College and 31 years teaching proprietary schools in the San Antonio area. Joe is also a Graduate from Southwest College.
Joe was an avid music lover; he started collecting records in the 1960’s and when he passed, he had a collection of thousands of vinyl records and CD’s that cover almost every type of music.
Joe was preceded in death by his father, mother, three brothers and three sisters. His first wife, Cappy, and his grandson, Logan Jones.
Joe is survived by his wife, Mary Ann Jeffers, son Robert C. Jeffers (wife Angie), Charles Jones (wife Deanna), John Jones, Raegan Young (husband Kevin), three grandchildren, Andrea Konsin (husband Steve), Cole and Hunter Young, and Two great grandchildren, Stela and Addie Konsin.
Joe is known as Papa Joe to many in the real estate industry and call them his sons & daughters. He truly loved them all.
The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to all the friends and relatives who have given them comfort and support in this time of need.
A visitation for Joe will be held Tuesday, January 21, 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Colonial Funeral Home, 625 Kitty Hawk Road, Universal City, TX 78148. A celebration of life will occur Tuesday, January 21, 2025 from 12:00 PM to 12:45 PM, 625 Kitty Hawk Road, Universal City, TX 78148. A committal service will occur Tuesday, January 21, 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Archdiocese of San Antonio - Holy Cross Cemetery, 17501 Nacogdoches Rd, San Antonio, TX 78266.
