6/3/26 – 8/9/13
Jo Freda Green left this world August 9, 2113. She was born in Paducah, Texas on June 3, 1926 to Kenneth and Christine Stinson. Early on the family moved to Deming, NM and while working at the local drug store in 1944, she met and married Robert V. Green. Their 69-year union produced two children, Pamela Vaughn (who preceded her in death) and Michael Green. Pamela had two children, Lee Ann (who has a daughter Taylor), and Wesley (who has a son Keneson). Michael and his wife Denise have two sons, Cooper and Carson. She is also survived by her sister Tedda Moritz.
After their marriage, Jo moved to Hobbs and then Clovis in New Mexico before settling for a while in Chicago where she worked in a department store while her husband was flying Combat in WWII. After the war, her husband applied for and received a Regular Army Commission and their travels began. Their first duty station was Westover, MA, which was followed by a move to San Antonio, TX while her husband flew the Air Lift in Germany, then Carswell in Fort Worth, followed by Maxwell AB. After that they moved to what Jo considered the best four years of her travels to Madrid Spain. While in Madrid, she met a very wealthy Spanish family who raised fighting bulls. Jo started following the “Bulls” and met many of the top bull fighters and saw fights all over Spain. After four years they returned stateside to Offutt NE, Vandenberg CA, Randolph TX, Grand Forks ND, and then back to San Antonio TX where she remained while her husband was in Vietnam. Upon his return they decided to retire and remain in the area and settled in Universal City, where Jo sold restate for 12 years for both a Realtor and a Builder. During this time she also became a serious San Antonio Spurs fan and season ticket holder for almost 20 years. Jo also enjoyed traveling with her husband for golf tournaments, playing the slot machines and spending time with her family.
