She is survived by her husband, Wesley Rumpf, to whom she was married for 17 years. She survived by her daughter Kaylynn Hernandez and her parents Mr. and Mrs. Ebert. She is survived by and her stepdaughter Jennifer Rumpf, Jennifer’s husband Manar El-Chammas, and granddaughter, Nadine El-Chammas, who adored her. She is survived also by her close friends, Lorraine and Jill, who she spent time with every day.
Laura lived a full and beautiful life. She was passionate about her love of animals, some of them quite exotic. She was an amazing athlete, winning many strong woman competitions and always seeking a new challenge. She enjoyed learning new hobbies and making beautiful things in the process, like many blankets she crocheted and a scenic flower garden and water oasis outside our front window. She loved the people close to her deeply, especially her husband Wes and her daughter Kaylynn. She advanced in her work at Texas Biomedical Institute over many years, more recently in a supervisory role over many experiments. She earned her Bachelor’s Degree and her Master’s Degree in Public Health.
She is also survived by her beloved animals: Archie, her dog; Leroy & Bella, Sphynx cats; Roscoe, Persian cat; Franklin, Lykoi cat; Betty, pot belly pig; Bucky, donkey;
A celebration of life for Laura will be held Friday, May 24, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Colonial Funeral Home, 625 Kitty Hawk Road, Universal City, TX 78148.
