Neighbors for many years on RAFB.  And, lately, enjoyed lunches and movies with Peg.  God bless you and your family.

Peg was just at moms funeral. So sorry for your loss.

Wow! I am so sorry I didn't know about your mom's passing. I would've loved to have been there for her funeral and to have seen the family and to offer my support and love. 
I grew up on RAFB which is how I was blessed to have been friends with Susan and the rest of the family. Your parents were like a second set of parents to me, and the times together were always fun. Your mother was a beautiful woman and it was nice to run into her at times! 
My heart goes out to the entire family at what I know is a very difficult time. May God be with you all, and may the brightness of your mother's memory bring you strength and light during your darkest of times.

My mother grew up in a small town in north central New Jersey.  As did many of her generation, she married a military man and joined him on his adventures around the world.  She did get to do some travelling, and her family grew from two to six of us over the course of the next several years as we alternated being stationed in east Asia and back here in the U.S. ending up here in San Antonio.  Also, like many of her generation, she made the subtle sacrifice of raising her children far from other family members.  We did some occasional trips to visit her and dad’s families in New Jersey and Pennsylvania, but we grew up, essentially, with fellow military brats and neighbors as our local family.  When dad retired they, like many military families, stayed in the area because this was home to us kids and they did not want to drag us away from all that we knew from our last few years being stationed in one place.  But, by then, mom had also developed strong roots here with many friends among the retires and her strong church community.  I did the same thing when I joined the Marine Corps, travelling and ending up raising a family in Atlanta, far from my home in Texas and their mother’s family in West Virginia, and staying to provide them a stable history with people and places they know.  So, my kids and I did not get to spend much time with my mother and will always regret that they did not get to know her beyond the occasional visit and phone calls.  But I do know this; she always put us kids first, no matter what, and she went to her grave more concerned about us than herself.  She was a good wife; a good mother; a good friend; a good woman.  We will miss you Mom.

 



Memorial Service

She is survived by her four children Robert, Steven, Susan, Sandra, (6) grandchildren and (3) great grandchildren.  She also leaves to cherish her memory her brother Fred and sister Susan.   She was preceded in death by her husband Anthony and one grandchild Anthony.
