Mary Jane Anderson

Mary Jane Anderson, 82, of Converse, Texas, passed away December 21, 2023. She was born in Bangor, Pennsylvania on January 3, 1941 to Elmer and Hilda Hill. She was married to Michael Anderson Sr. for 46 years until his passing in 2005.

Mary worked for The United States Air Force from March 1959 until January 1960. She then worked as an Office Manager and Bookkeeper from 1972 to 1981. Mary belonged to the RVW Rambling Roses and the Pink Flamingos RV groups where she traveled all over the country in her own RV.

Mary loved to travel and to be with her kids, grandkids, and extended family.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Michael D. Anderson; her parents, Hilda and Elmer Hill; and her sisters Marlene Reddinger and Betty VanWhy.

She is survived by her son, Michael D. Anderson Jr. (Chele); two daughters, Nancy J. Epler (Marshall), and Susan M. Hunter (Mark); her brother, Richard Hill; three sisters, Ginny Batchler, Lila Marchese, and Elaine Rutt; eight grandchildren, Jennifer Foster, Mikey Anderson (Shawna), Tiffany Anderson (Michelle), Phillip Hunter (Saritha), Sparky Epler (Sarah), Skylar Anderson, Aubrey Martin (Nick), and Aleana Hunter; and seven great-grandchildren, Jordyn Foster, Jocelyn Foster, Amy Hunter, Jayden Foster, Zoe Anderson, Jax Anderson, and Daisy Martin.

A visitation for Mary will be held Wednesday, January 17, 2024 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Colonial Funeral Home, 625 Kitty Hawk Road, Universal City, TX 78148. A rosary will occur Wednesday, January 17, 2024 from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM, 625 Kitty Hawk Road, Universal City, TX 78148.

A funeral service will occur Thursday, January 18, 2024 from 11:30 AM to 12:00 PM, 625 Kitty Hawk Road, Universal City, TX 78148. A committal service will occur Thursday, January 18, 2024 from 1:15 PM to 1:35 PM at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery, 1520 Harry Wurzbach Rd, San Antonio, TX 78209.

In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made by donation to the American Cancer Society or St. Jude’s.
