

Melissa Ann Vargas was an amazing, God loving woman. She had an immediate impact on those she met, and had a profound impacted on those around her. Melissa was a clever and gregarious person who always sought out the finest attributes in other people. It was as if Melissa wanted to share all of their experiences, revel in their lives and celebrate their discoveries.
Melissa was born on August 28 in Wharton, Texas. She was the daughter of Johnny and Maria Ramirez. She was a daughter of a soldier so she traveled throughout her life. She was raised with six siblings. She had three brothers Troy, John Michael, Jaime, and three sisters Lolita, Sonia and Nina. Melissa was very accepting and supportive of her family. She took care of her family, as her mother and father both had to work. Whenever discord or tension arose within the home, Melissa was typically the member who brought about resolution. This trait served Melissa well in her adult life and, along with her wit, outgoing personality, and understanding of others, drew the admiration of many who knew her.
In the spring of 1982 Melissa Married Roy Vargas. They were blessed with three children, Johnny Joe, Clarissa, and Christen. Melissa's skill at building bridges played an important role in her ability to make her new family happy. She was quite sensitive towards Roy's needs, showing her constant concern and fondness. She was tenderhearted and sensitive, qualities that served her well in helping to nurture her family. She was a natural and creative parent who was willing to provide her family with all sorts of new and interesting experiences. Parenting was a particularly enjoyable and pleasurable part of her life. Understanding her children's feelings, her sensitivity to their needs, and her gift for gentle persuasion enabled her to find novel solutions to any problem or situation. She also has six grandchildren, Alyssa, Wyatt, Jacob, Brady, Ethan, and Chelsea. She lived for her Children & Grandchildren.
She went to Cosmetology school at Tony & Guy where she pursued her love of making others beautiful. She also earned a degree in religious studied from Wayland Baptist. She loved people and telling others about God her education helped give her the tools to enjoy both. She was an entrepreneur and had the courage and confidence to start her own business. Melissa's hair studio was a loving shop you walked out beautiful and with a touched heart. Melissa was very sociable and could blend without effort into any social group. Assertive and outgoing, she was easy to know and demonstrated a deep concern for others. She always seemed aware of what was going on with people around her and throughout her life she made many, many friends. Melissa made friends in every room she entered. She loved everyone! Later in life, a few friends always stayed close to her heart Carol, Pat, Rowena, Prophet Roy and Debbie.
While frequenting many local churches, she was a devoted and a well rounded Christian. She was sympathetic and able to empathize with others and she used these qualities to the fullest while working tirelessly for her beliefs. She enjoyed spreading the Gospel, and would talk for hours about her love of Christ. Sharing God's word was her mission in life. She always dreamed of going to Israel, it was a dream that came true.
Melissa Vargas passed away on September 2, 2016. Melissa fought a rare neurological disease for several years. She is survived by her husband Roy; her mother Maria; her children Johnny Joe, Clarissa and Christen; her son in laws Allen and Troy; her grandchildren Chelsea, Wyatt, Jacob, Brady, and Ethan; her brothers Troy, John Micheal, Jaime; her sisters Lolita, Sonia, and Nina.
