Lifetime San Antonio resident, he attended Judson ISD schools. Michael worked as a personal trainer then began a career in marketing and advertising. He most recently worked at The Current.
Michael had many interests, he never missed a chance to sing karaoke, his weekends were spent hanging out with friends and family and grilling. He was known for his love of sports. He played high school soccer and continued playing the sport for many years. One of the highlights and honors of his father Miguel’s life was coaching Michael’s soccer team as well as in later years playing alongside him as his teammate. He was passionate about the Michigan Wolverines, the Spurs, Dallas Cowboys and most recently his daughter’s college team the Arkansas Razorbacks. He also cheered for the Aggies and Roadrunners.
He loved to travel. There were annual trips to Port A. His last trips to Las Vegas and Disney World were extraordinarily joyous, spending precious time with Mischa, Amanda, Naomi, Josh and their boys, memories that will be treasured forever. This last Thanksgiving was spent in Fayetteville, Arkansas with Mischa, Amanda and sharing time with his parents and future inlaws. His parents enjoyed for the first time seeing him do karaoke and kept saying their little boy sure was comfortable with the microphone and they loved his singing.
Devoted son, brother, father, uncle, nephew, cousin and friend to many. He is survived by the love of his life his precious daughter Mischa, his parents Miguel and Beatriz Valdelamar, brother Mario (Cassey), nieces and nephews Myla, Mateo, Maximus, Jerriana and Jerome, uncles Mateo (Imelda) Camargo, Mario (Marie) Camargo, Aunts Rosa Angelica (Pietro) Cudemo, Rosalva (Felipe) Guevara, cousins and his fiance Amanda Stark. He was preceded in death by his grandparents Belia and Mateo Camargo and Maria del Carmen and Agustin Valdelamar.
Michael made everyone feel welcomed. As his brother Mario expressed today we lost a good one, a piece of our family, a part of our heart. Michael loved and was loved by many and he left us way too soon. Michael’s spirit and kind heart will continue to live on through all who were fortunate to know him. We miss you and will always love you. May he rest in peace.
