Nettie Wayne Popham

Nettie Popham passed away on Saturday, January 21, 2023, at the age of 87. She was born on June 22, 1935, to Alice Chapman Fontenot and Dudley Fontenot. She married Lonnie Claude Popham Jr. on December 26th, 1952.

She is survived by her children, Terry Popham and wife Lydia; Chris Popham Wright and husband Gene; Rebecca Popham Johnson and husband Mark; Brian Popham and wife Gina; and Stacie Popham Milanovich and husband Nick. She also has 12 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren, who she loved more than life itself. Her family was the world to her, as she was to them.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Lonnie C. Popham, Jr., her daughter Jackie, and her grandson Trey.

Nettie was a dedicated member of Saint Monica’s Catholic church for over 50 years and often volunteered at the church thrift shop. She never met a stranger she didn’t befriend, and touched many lives along her journey. Those that were fortunate enough to have met and known her can share and reminisce in her kind heartedness and infectious laughter. She will be dearly missed.

A visitation for Nettie will be held Saturday, February 4, 2023 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM, followed by a funeral service from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Colonial Funeral Home, 625 Kitty Hawk Road, Universal City, TX 78148
