Richard Donald Stone

Richard Donald Stone passed from this life on Wednesday, October 5, 2011. His father Hubert Stone and mother Edith Sampier Stone were there in heaven waiting for him. As well as his son Bobby Don, granddaughter, Tiffany Jo, and great granddaughter Cassie, and a host of friends and relatives who had gotten there before him. Known as Pastor Stone, he pastored the Helotes Independent Baptist for 29 years. Prior to that he pastored Harmony Hills Baptist Church for 4 years. He worked in Temple Baptist Church and helped build Marion Baptist Church also. He was a graduate of Arlington Baptist College. He received his doctorate from Slidell Baptist College. During his ministry, he was privileged to travel to Liberia, West Africa, Honduras several times, and Colombia, South America. He is survived by his wife Reese, Son Billy Chi and Daughter-in-law Joyce, granddaughter Cynthia Lynn, grandsons Jeremy and Steven James, 5 great grandchildren, sister June White and brother-in-law James, several nieces and nephews. A visitation will be held Friday, Oct 7, 2011 from 2:00-3:00 P.M at Helotes Independent Baptist Church followed by funeral services at 3:00 P.M. No Flowers Please.
