

Lt. Col. Richard J. “Dick” Stricker U.S Air Force, Retired passed away on August 24, 2012 at the age of 78 after having suffered a massive stroke on June 6. He was born on April 20, 1934 in Saginaw, MI to Alexander and Anna Altergott Stricker. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers; survived by his loving wife of 57 years Iris J. Hagaman Stricker; sons, Mark Stricker, his wife Sherri; Daniel E. Stricker, his wife Gina; daughter, Catherine Muse, her husband Greg; grandchildren, Jennifer Muse, Sarah Bush, her husband Justin, Hannah Muse, Rebecca Stricker, Bethany Stricker, McKenzie Stricker, Madison Stricker, Joshua Stricker, Makayla Stricker and Mallory Stricker; nephews, Bradley and Phillip Stricker and their families. Dick spent 22 years in the Air Force as a pilot. During his tour in Vietnam, he was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross for valor. Dick also retired from USAA after 13 years and from Randolph Brooks Federal Credit Union after 12 years. He was the Chairman of Deacons and a Sunday school teacher at First Baptist Church, Universal City, and a member of the Order of Daedalians Society and volunteered in numerous organizations. Dick loved his Lord, his family and his country. He enjoyed golfing with friends, traveling with family, and riding his bike. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 28, 2012 from 5:00 P.M.-8:00 P.M. at Colonial Funeral Home, Universal City. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, August 29, 2012 at 9:30 A.M. at First Baptist Church, Universal City. Interment will be held on Wednesday, August 29, 2012 at 11:00 A.M. at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery with full military honors. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Enduring Love Foundation of First Baptist Church, in honor of Dick Stricker, 1401 Pat Booker Rd, Universal City, TX 78148.
