

Ricky Maurice Naylor, affectionately known as Rick, passed away on September 11, 2024, in Universal City, Texas, at the age of 67. Born on April 20, 1957, in St. Louis, Missouri, Rick lived a life marked by service, joy, and the love of his family and friends. His warmth and generosity of spirit left an indelible mark on all who knew him.
Rick was a proud graduate of the St. Louis public school system, having attended Northwest High School. His sense of duty and patriotism led him to serve his country by enlisting in the United States Army in June 1978. As a dedicated 92Y unit supply specialist, Rick's commitment to his fellow soldiers was unwavering, and his work ethic was exemplary. He carried the discipline and camaraderie of military life into his civilian years, maintaining close ties with his fellow veterans throughout his life.
A man of simple pleasures, Rick's love for dominoes and card games was well known among his circle. Many evenings were spent in friendly competition, laughter echoing through the room as Rick skillfully played his hand. His passion for the San Antonio Spurs was equally fervent, and he was a lifelong fan who rarely missed a game. Rick's enthusiasm for his team was contagious, and he enjoyed sharing this love with his children and grandchildren.
Rick was a beloved brother, father, and grandfather. He is survived by his sister, Deborah M. Naylor; his brother, Thomas Charles Naylor Jr.; his cherished daughter, Kamika Naylor; and his two devoted sons, Marquis and Marlen Naylor. His legacy continues through his grandchildren, Tristen, Nadia, and Kinsley Naylor, who brought him immense joy and pride. Rick also had a special bond with his niece Tamekia Naylor, as well as a host of nieces and nephews who will miss his guidance and humor.
Preceded in death by his parents, Magnolia Morgan and Thomas Naylor, and his brother Michael Naylor, Rick's memory will be a guiding light for his family. The stories of his kindness, his hearty laugh, and his unwavering integrity will be passed down through generations.
Rick's life was a testament to the power of community and the importance of connection. His presence could light up a room, and his absence will be deeply felt by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
