Robert was born in Hot Springs, Arkansas on December 12, 1946 to Earl and Cupid Garner. He was the second of three children. The Garner family moved to San Antonio in 1955. From there his parents raised a caring and spiritual young man who grew to be a generous and loving man.
Robert gave his heart to Christ at an early age and bestowed that faith in his new family through love and devotion. "Robbie" as he was known to his friends and family graduated High School in 1965. Robbie married his wife Cheryl, March 19th, 1968. Their son Ross was born in November of that same year. Robbie was a true "gear head". His love of cars, racing and socializing with others about cars led to him joining the S.A. Rodders Car Club and for many years was an intrical part of their success at charity fundraisers through various local car shows. He also had a passion for hunting and the outdoors. His love for animals was to say the least, remarkable.
Robbie began his career as an electrician in the late 60's with the I.B.E.W. Local 60. Through his hard work, devotion and love he provided for his family and created a legacy that will never be forgotten.
For all of those friends and family who knew and loved Robbie you can be certain that when you think of something he loved and enjoyed in life, smile at that thought of remembrance and take solace that he is right there smiling with you.
Robert was preceded in death by his grandmother, Clara Spradlin; and parents Earl and Cupid Garner.
He is survived by his wife, Cheryl; son, Ross; daughter in-law, Tammy; sisters, Sharon Clark and Pamela DiMatteo; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, please donate in Robert's name to your church or charity of choice.
