
Bob was the son of the late Robert P. Heaton, Sr. and Marilyn (Moore) Heaton. Born in Providence, Rhode Island on April 1, 1955, he grew up in Lincoln, Rhode Island and graduated from Lincoln High School in 1973. He attended the University of Rhode Island and graduated in 1977 before joining the US Army. Bob spent 20 years in the Army as an aviator. Among many other roles, he served as a flight instructor, a test pilot, and served in combat during Operation Desert Storm. He retired as a Chief Warrant Officer 4.
Bob is survived by his wife of 41 years, Patricia (Bailey) Heaton; his sons, Charles R. Heaton and Dennis J. Heaton; and his three grandchildren, Thea Heaton, Rowan Heaton, and Rosemary Heaton. He also leaves behind his three siblings, Pamela (Heaton) Sandford, Lesley Heaton, and Michael Heaton; and his nieces and nephews, Michela, Erin, Nick, and Kyle.
