Roger L. Jones

Roger L. Jones passed away Thursday October 4, 2012 at age 67. He was born on March 11, 1945 in Cushing Oklahoma to Edward and Idabel (McKee) Jones. Roger was a proud Korean and Vietnam Veteran serving in the US Army. He retired from SMT Freight Lines after 43 years of service. He is preceded in death by his parents and sister, Donna Jones Ashworth. Roger is survived by his loving wife of 34 years Carol (Hinsley) Jones; children Jason Anderson (Melissa), Roger Lee Jones Jr. (Margaret), Kenny Jones (Rosie), and Rhonda Forsyth (Robert); special mother-in-law Betty Hinsley; grandsons, Jason Anderson Jr., Dustin Anderson, Sidney Pinn-Kidd, Corey Forsyth; granddaughters, Madison, Alexis, Kira, and Rylee Jones, and Aurora Anderson; brothers, Randy Jones (Lorraine), Dale Jones (Linda), and Danny Jones; sisters, Dianna Phipps (Roy), Roberta Cooper, and Ramona Vaught; sisters-in-law, Sharon Melton (Terry), Linda Gibbs (Mack), and Brenda Drennan; brother-in-law, Butch Ashworth; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. A Service of Celebration will be held at Colonial Funeral Home on Saturday October 6, 2012 at 6:00 P.M. A visitation will follow the services until 9:00 P.M. A graveside service will be held at Fort Sam National Cemetery on Wednesday October 10, 2012 at 9:30 AM. with military honors. In lieu of flowers please make memorial donations to Boysville or the Children’s Miracle Network in memory of Roger L. Jones.
