Just after the midnight hour of August 15th, 2025, Steven M Bree—musician, war-forged veteran, and devoted father—departed this realm, leaving behind a silence more profound than any note he ever played. He was 59.

Born beneath a blood moon in a forgotten corner of Illinois, Steve lived as if he were carved from obsidian—shining, resilient, and enigmatic. His voice, both in song and in spirit, carried the weight of battles fought on foreign soil and within his own haunted heart. A soldier of sound and of war, he bore scars that no melody could mend, yet he never ceased to create beauty from pain.

His guitar, worn from years of powerful serenades, now rests mute. The stage he once commanded with a spectral presence stands empty, draped in velvet and memory. Those who heard him play knew the truth: Le Bree didn’t perform—he conjured.

He is survived by his mother, Renee’ Zimmerman - Swaaley, who was one of his first fans; his sisters, Theresa Bree – Dorofy-Lazzaro and Donna Bree - Sanders, who knew the boy behind the battle-hardened man; and his children, Abby Bree and Seth Bree, who carry fragments of his fire and frost within their veins. Steve was a dedicated father torn with leaving his children to navigate life without him, he vowed to reach through the veil and guide from the shadows.

Steve’s legacy is not one of cheerful remembrance, but of reverent awe. He was a storm cloaked in leather and wisdom, a father who taught his children that love can be fierce, and a man who walked through life as if Death were his muse.

A private memorial will be held Sunday August 24th 2025 7 pm, at a undisclosed underground location, where candles will flicker like the pulse of his final song. Attendees are asked to wear Gothic attire, not in mourning, but in honor of the velvet night Steven so deeply cherished.

May his soul find rest in the cathedral of shadows, where silence sings and the broken are whole.
