Susan Santa-Cruz Shuemate was born on the 10th of May 1962 in San Antonio, Texas. Susan Santa-Cruz Shuemate is the first of two children of Carlos & Eva Santa-Cruz.
Susan Graduated from Ursuline Academy in San Antonio, Texas and went on to UTSA to study in Business Administration.
Susan was a wonderful, loving daughter, wife, mother and friend. Susan leaves behind two children who have become amazing young men; Daniel Mark Sheehan & Ryan Patrick Sheehan; her devoted and forever loving husband Steve Shuemate; her loving father Carlos Santa-Cruz, her brother Carlos Santa-Cruz and countless of family and friends.
Susan pursued a successful career in Real Estate with Keller Williams. For Susan, Real Estate was really more than a career, for Susan it was a passion. Susan loved interaction with people and, helping clients find their dream home.
Wherever Susan went she radiated sunshine, her smile was contagious and impacted all. Susan had an undying passion for life, love, kindness, happiness, helping others, music, shopping, Coco and Toby and most importantly, her family. Susan lived life fully, without reservation or inhibition. Susan gave of her heart and feelings freely in the pursuit of sharing her love and happiness with everyone she met, with the hope of touching others in a way that would make a lasting, positive change in their lives.
Susan served on various committees during her time with Keller Williams, planning for and hosting numerous Charities and Social Events. Belonging to the various committees, planning and hosting was a challenge Susan embraced fully, completely and thrived on the success of all events. Susan never accepted half measures in any aspect of her life and challenged others to buy into this philosophy to create an atmosphere of success and achievement for “the team”, because it was never about Susan, it was always about the cause or event and the people involved in making it a success.
Susan loved traveling, outdoors, meeting people and sharing in her love of life with everyone she met. During her short time amongst us, Susan’s love touched the lives of many in a positive and lasting way. So many whose lives Susan touched were forever changed and Susan’s memory will live within us all forever.
Rest in peace Sunshine and, go with God and be embraced by your mother once again. A Celebration of Life will Be Saturday, May 5, 2018 at 12:00 p.m. at Club of Sonterra.
