

Theodore Patlan Prieto, of Converse TX, passed away August 26, 2016 at the age of 86. He is predeceased by his parents, Romulo and Asuncion Prieto and one sister. He is survived by his wife, Shirley, of 60 years as well as 3 brothers and 3 sisters. He is lovingly remembered by his children, Rod Prieto (Carla) of Splendor TX, Terry Scalia of Jacksonville FL, Tim Prieto (Ann) of San Antonio TX, Cathy Prieto-Smith (Darryl) of Houston TX, Jacquie Green (Tom) of Conway AR, Jeff Prieto (Gretchen) of Magnolia TX, Tina Prieto of Redmond WA, 13 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. Theodore was born in Maxwell, TX on November 09, 1929. He joined the US Air Force in 1946, at the age of 17, and retired in 1971. He worked for the US Treasury Department for 15 years, 3 years as a US Sky Marshall and 12 years as a US Customs Agent. After retiring in 1986, he worked for the US Marshalls in the Federal Court system. After 39 ½ years of serving the US Government, he retired in San Diego and with his wife, relocated to Converse Texas. Theodore is a member of the NRA, the VFW and Knights of Columbus. He gave his time/ expertise of firearms and taught concealed handgun courses where he donated all proceeds back to the community. He volunteered for the Honor Guard at Fort Sam Houston Cemetery. The visitation will be held at the Colonial Funeral Home, 625 Kitty Hawk Rd, Universal City, TX on Wednesday August 31, 2016 from 5-8:00pm with a Rosary starting at 7:00pm. The funeral service will be held at St Monica Catholic Church, 501 North St, Converse, TX 78109 on Thursday September 01, 2016 at 11:00am. Burial will follow at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery at 1:15 pm.
