I guess it is never to late. I loved Sonny with all my heart. The times we had in Seguin Tx was great. I know he loved me just like i loved him. I'm so sorry for Robin, Shawn and good ole BJ. Yaw were blessed to be around Sonny everyday. I wish yaw nothing but love. I miss my Brother everyday. God bless yo Sonny.

My big brother was fun loving - even mischievous!  To me Troy was bigger than life, always.  He was beloved by those who knew him because he truly cared about what you were telling him.  If you spoke with him, you were always the focus of his attention.    He had a temper and he fought for the win in everything he tried.  But he was grace personified.  I guess he had some faults.  But I never saw one of them.  For the family he leaves behind, there is a hole that will never be filled.  But there is a legacy that will live on in us, those he coached and for all who loved him.  

I just heard about Coach’s passing  and send my condolences to the family.
Coach Troy was one of my favorite people.  When my son played for him, he let me be a part of the dugout (because I shagged balls so well in the outfield).  He pulled no punches when “coaching” the boys but my son loved him.  His tutorage will be missed.


I met Coach Troy at Baseball City when I was 15 years old and after the local select baseball clubs wouldn’t let me try out for their teams.  Coach Troy taught me how to play the game at the next level.  My senior year of high school I was 5A All State and continued my career at Angelo State.  Coach Troy always believed in me and did so much more than tweaking my swing and telling me I needed to stretch.  Love you Coach!

I played college baseball with Shawn and I remember Troy always being there to support his son and our team.  He was a man that had a wealth of baseball knowledge, and he would share that knowledge with Shawn and the rest of us whenever he had a chance.  He was full of interesting stories and could spark up a conversation with just about anyone.  He will be truly missed!! 

My sincere condolences and prayers go out to the entire Joseph family.

On behalf of Baseball Express, I want to offer Troy’s family our deepest condolences.

Troy (a.k.a. “Coach”) was an integral part of our company for nearly 20 years.  His contributions will always be valued and remembered by his coworkers, vendors,and customers.   During his tenure with Baseball Express, Troy exemplified our values while serving as an ambassador to thousands of customers around the world. 

Troy is loved and greatly missed by his friends at Baseball Express!  Troy was an awesome Coach and teammate.

My coach.... you made me more than just a ball player you meant so much more to me! You are my best friend! We spent so much time and made so many memories! You taught me how to work hard believe in myself and love the game which led to a free college tuition! Picking me up in your blue Chevy truck and taking me to practice and games! Buying some big gulps and snacks at 7 eleven and littering the streets on the way home after a game!  I think they should have made that sign Don’t mess with Texas Troy! Lol...jk You were there when I hit my first home run and when I played my last game in Arizona with team Titans! Robin, Sean and Bj I truly loved him and will always remember Troy my COACH!

Troy was an amazing cousin with so much love for all. He always had a smile and a story to share. Truly blessed were all that were lucky enough to call him family or friend. God Bless and comfort those who mourn his passing. 

Thoughts and Prayers to the Joseph Family.  I have fond memories of Troy and I am sure he has already found a ballfield in heaven enjoying his favorite game.

When I was a kid we drove from Houston to Jacksonville to visit our Aunt, Uncle, and cousins. Aunt Nell told a story about Troy, who we all called Sonny back then. She said Troy was at military school and one morning during their first inspection the Sergeant walked in and Troy and his roommate stood at attention in front of their beds facing one another. The sargent spied a Batman rug between the two beds. He looked at Troy. "Joseph, are you Batman?" he barked.

Looking straight ahead, Troy shouted, "No Sir! I'm Robin." He pointed at his roomie. "He's Batman!"

I thought this was the funniest story I had yet to hear in my 12 years of life. Considering all the athletes Troy trained and mentored, I would say that indeed Troy was and always will be Batman.

I was fortunate enough to know Troy on several levels. He was Shawn’s father so playing with Shawn in college allowed me to meet him as a fan and fellow baseball fanatic. After college, I got my first head baseball coaching job and I asked Troy to come be my assistant, knowing full well it would be the other way around. He loved the game and was able to relay his knowledge to the players with passion. They responded. While we didn’t have many successful seasons, those athletes still contact me and remember the way they learned the game. They’re able now to teach their sons and spread that love for baseball. Just like Troy passed the game on to Shawn and BJ and now Shawn to Seth and Shane. That’s Troy’s legacy to me. 

I will miss the sparkle in his eye, the smile on his face and his great stories. I loved him more than words can say and my heart is heavy. I send my love and prayers to Robin and the boys.

We have the best memories of Troy.  He would sit near the one deck circle so he could encourage the boys before they went to bat.  He was supportive in every way and was indeed the Pflash's #1 fan.  We feel so grateful to have known him.  May the wonderful memories of him bring you peace during this difficult time.  We love you all and lift you in prayer.

Our best fans for Pflash were our grandparents and Troy was one of the best!  Always positive and supportive win or lose.  Caden says he always had good advice for him. I met Troy and Robin in the early 70s they lived across the street from my parents, we be good friends every since. The first time I met him I thought he was a big bear but instead he was more like a teddy bear. Thanks for you to being good friends. Tracy&Karen Hines

I’ve loved this man all of my life.  More than a Cousin and almost a Big Brother.  Always had a smile, a smooch and a big hug.  I know he’s with Elmer and Donnie and they are causing trouble for all.  I love you to the moon and back!  ❤️❤️❤️
