Vickie Miller was Born on July 1, 1953 to Clarence and Louise Woods. She has two brothers, Johnny and Billy Frank, and three sisters, Jane, Judy, and Kay, two brothers in law, John and Bill, and one sister-in-law, Kyoko. And many nieces and nephews.
Vickie grew up in Dumas, Texas. She married Jimmy Miller on April 9, 1971 in Dumas. They have three children, Christy, Betsy, and Timmy, one son-in-law, Bryan. And three grandchildren, Stephen, Bethany, and Jonathan.
She knew from an early age that God had created her to be a nurse. It wasn't a job to her, it was her calling. She started her nursing career at 16 as a Candy Striper with Future Nurses of America. She graduated from West Texas State University with a Bachelors of Science in Nursing. Vickie made a lasting impact on the nursing field, winning several awards. She developed programs that are being used across the United States to teach future nurses.
Vickie was many things, to some she was a mother, grandmother, sister, boss, leader, mentor, but to everyone she was a friend.
Vickie has left a legacy that will continue on for generations.
Vickie wanted all Nurses to wear white and everyone else wear bright colors preferably yellow to her celebration of life.
