

Mrs Pixton passed away Sunday, June 9, 2013 at her home in the Army Residence Community in San Antonio, Texas. Vivian S. Pixton was born March 4, 1919 in Tacoma, Washington, the daughter of Herb and Ann Sturtridge. Vivian was united in marriage to Allan Gardner Pixton, March 5, 1942 in Lakewood, Washington. She and Allan recently celebrated their 71st wedding anniversary surrounded by her children and many of her grandchildren. She was preceded in death by their infant son, Scott.
She is survived by her husband, Allan, her son Christopher Carter Pixton, of O’Fallon, IL, and her daughter, Heidi Elizabeth (Pixton) Copa, of Pleasant Hills, CA; her daughter-in-law, Linda Ann Pixton, O’Fallon, IL, and her son-in-law, Ken Copa, Pleasant Hills, CA, 15 loving grandchildren, 44 great grandchildren and 1 great, great grandson.
Vivian dedicated her life to raising her children while supporting her husband in his many official duties as he rose in rank from Lieutenant to Brigadier General while on active duty in the U. S. Army including moves to 29 homes in 30 years. Their many travels took them to every continent, walking the Great Wall of China, visiting the Taj Mahal, tiger hunting in Cambodia, visiting Machu Picchu and two safaris in Africa.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, August 2, 2013 at 9:00 A.M. at Arlington National Cemetery.
