Ana Rueda Mascarinas

Virginia Beach – Ana Rueda Mascarinas passed away peacefully at her home on February 14, 2011. She was a registered nurse and was a member of the Filipino Nurses Association and the Filipino Medical Association of Southeastern Virginia Auxiliary. Mrs. Mascarinas was a parishioner at St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church where she was active in the Fil-am ministry and was a Eucharist minister.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Arcadio and Leonarda Rueda; sisters, Estellita Nuque and Conchita Mata; and brother, Mario Rueda.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband of 43 years, Teofilo C. Mascarinas, MD; children, Marjorie R. Mascarinas, Jeffrey R. Mascarinas, and Monique M. Sommerhiser and husband Nicholas; sister, Elisa Lim; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, February 17, 2011 and Friday, February 18, 2011 at Rosewood Kellum Funeral Home. A wake service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Friday, February 18, 2011 at the funeral home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 19, 2011 at St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church with entombment to follow in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery. A reception will follow the burial at the church. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations be made to Operation Smile or St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church.
