Mr. Hooks was born in Freemont, NC and was preceded in death by a son Bennett H. Hooks Jr. He was a carpenter and many of the buildings and structures stand in testament to his talent and craftsmanship. He will be missed.
He is survived by his wife Aleathia Esther Hooks, two sons Roy V. Hooks and wife Veronica of Norfolk, VA, and William Ruffin Hooks of Durham, NC. There are three grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
