Bernice McKinney Davis, 77, passed away May 17, 2013. She was born in Virginia Beach, VA on July 13, 1935 to the late Harold and Alice McKinney. Bernice was a school bus driver #371 for 20 years for the Virginia Beach Public Schools. She enjoyed knitting, sewing, and making many crafty things to the highest level of detail and perfection. Above all Bernice was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Horace Brantley Davis Sr.; children, Brantley Davis Jr. and wife Susan of FL, Cindy Austin and husband Doug of AZ, Carmel Million and husband Ed of Virginia Beach, Darrell Davis and wife Diana of AZ, and Anita VanDerziel and husband Gary of MI; sister, Edna DeWald of NC; raised as close as sisters, Hilda Stewart and Claudette Anderson; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; several other siblings and many other family.
A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, May 21, 2013 at Rosewood Memorial Park with the Rev. Ernest Trueblood officiating.
