She was predeceased by her husband John "J.K." Woolard, and son David E. Woolard. She was born in North Carolina September 9, 1928.
Bertha was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She was always there for her family and many friends in every way possible. If you were sick she was there. No questions asked. She was a very kind woman always willing to help and never asked for anything in return. She was like Florence Nightingale always taking care of the ones she loved. She love to bake cakes and crochet. She made and gave away many. If you received one you were very special.
Bertha is survived by her daughters Patricia Kayer, (Barry), Cathy Raper, 2 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren, 2 sisters, 1 brother and many nieces and nephews.
Above all Bertha was a selfless nurturing individual who loved deeply and was loved by all who had the good fortune to know her. We will miss her.
A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, January 14, 2:00pm at Rosewood Memorial Park, 631 N. Witchduck Road, Virginia Beach.
The family would like to thank the many caregivers for their devotion and passion.
