Born in Norfolk, Betty built a life centered on family, love, and joy. She was the devoted wife of Forrest “Curly” Gayheart, who preceded her in death. Together, they shared a deep love for traveling with friends and family and spending time at the Moose Lodge every weekend.
Betty loved with a beautiful fierceness. She poured her heart into everything she did—especially into caring for her family. She took pride in being a stay at home Mom and raising her children. She had a gift for working with her hands and a creative spirit that shone through in her many talents. She crocheted, sewed, crafted, and lovingly created stained glass pieces for each of her family members—works of art that now serve as lasting reminders of her love.
She was also preceded in death by her beloved son, Bernie. She is survived by her loving children Gail, Robert, and Richard. Betty’s legacy lives on through her 11 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews, each of whom brought her immense pride and joy.
Betty’s warmth, strength, and love will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew her.
