Virginia Beach - Billy L. Gable, 87, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Sept. 27, 2014. He was born on Aug. 5, 1927 in Ware Shoals, SC to the late Ollie and Daisy Gable. Billy and his father worked hard at building their business, Gable Engravers. He was a devoted member of Providence Evangelical Friends Church, where he taught Sunday school for over 30 years.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 31 years, Melva Lucille Gable; sons, Brent Gable and his wife Elizabeth and Bruce Gable; daughter, Brenda Gable; step-sons, Randy and Ronnie; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Barbara Gable; son, Barry Lynn Gable; and sister, Mary Flanigan and her husband Harry.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m., Wed., Oct. 1, 2014 at Rosewood Kellum Funeral Home. A funeral will be held at 1:00 p.m., Thurs., Oct. 2, 2014 at Providence Evangelical Friends Church, 5340 Providence Rd. Virginia Beach.
