Caroline Amy Long

Caroline “Carol” Amy Long, age 70, passed away on October 31, 2017. Born in Chicago, Illinois on September 6, 1947, she grew up in the Washington, DC area, graduating from Albert Einstein High School in 1967. She met her husband, Robert “Bob” Long, while working as a nurse's aide at Suburban Hospital in Bethesda, Maryland. Shortly after their wedding, the couple relocated to Virginia Beach, Virginia for Bob’s work in the U.S. Navy. After their union ended years later, Carol continued to call Virginia Beach her home. She was blessed with many friends and cherished her time with them. She was a woman of strong faith who trusted in the Lord. She also enjoyed singing, especially to the oldies, and dancing Irish jigs. Carol was the gentlest of souls who had a special ability to make others laugh. She is survived by her sister, Katherine Mullins of Berlin, Maryland, and her brother Thomas Hallett of Shady Side, Maryland. Carol also had 3 nephews, 2 nieces, and 1 grand-nephew.
