Charles Richard Vick passed away peacefully at the age of 92, on July 1, 2025. He was born on February 25, 1933 in Portsmouth, VA to the late Martin and Mildred Vick. He was a 1951 graduate of Cradock High School in Portsmouth. He was a veteran of the Korean War, serving in the U.S. Air Force from 1953 to 1957. He pursued a career with the Federal Government, graduating from the Norfolk Naval Air Station Apprentice School in 1959 as an Aircraft Instrument Mechanic. He retired in 1988 after working 37 years as a Quality Assurance Specialist. He was a member of Princess Anne Plaza Baptist Church in Virginia Beach, where he served as one of the trustees and as a member of the treasurer staff for several years. He also performed in the church choir, playing acoustic guitar. He was a member and Past Master of Willis V. Fentress Masonic Lodge #296. He celebrated 50 years with the lodge in 2017.
He is survived by the love of his life, Marilyn, with whom he shared 69 beautiful years of marriage; daughter, Pamela Burkholder (Mike); son Mark Vick; granddaughters, Lauren Nelbach and Amanda Shuler (Trey); grandson, Austin Vick and great-grandsons, Zachary Nelbach and Brayden Cook. He is also survived by his brothers, Ronald Vick and Martin Vick and sister, Jan Miller. He was predeceased by his sister-in-law, Frances Vick; and daughter-in-law, Deborah Vick.

A Celebration of Life service will be held Monday, July 7, 2025 at 7pm. at Harper’s Station, 4501 Victory Blvd., Yorktown VA. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 10, 2025 at 2pm. at Rosewood Kellum Funeral Home, 601 N. Witchduck Rd., Virginia Beach, VA. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society and/or the American Lung Association.
