Born in Wisconsin, Craig's summers were spent at the lake, traveling to air shows with his dad or they could be found out near a cornfield flying model airplanes. Aviation was in his DNA. Turbulent teenage years thankfully yielded to direction in life when he announced he wanted to become a pilot and moved to Vero Beach, FL for training at Flight Safety International. Craig stayed on at Flight Safety as an instructor before working with commercial, then private aviation companies. A diagnosis of MS permanently side-lined his career as a pilot over a decade ago.
Craig faced the disease with courage, fortitude and the good sense to focus on what he loved and enjoyed most in life: playing guitar, model airplanes, fishing with his buddies, following WI Badger football, or cooking for friends and fellow musicians. Craig was a loyal generous man with a welcoming smile. He valued old friendships but his community in VA Beach became his tribe. Craig lived a good life and will be remembered fondly by all of those whose lives he touched through the years.
He is survived by sisters Chris (John), Deborah, Jennifer, Tracey (Tim); Aunt Sharon; nieces, Ashleigh (James), Molly and Shelly; great niece Dani; great nephew Jimmy; and Cousin Sandy.
A Celebration of Life will be held at - Soul Haven Hall- Friday May 14th - 5-8 pm
