Edward Thomas

Edward Thomas, 83, passed away on March 7, 2025. Born in Alabama, he was one of eight children of the late George and Elizabeth Thomas. During his life, he lived in several places, Gadsden, Alabama, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and finally ending up in Virginia Beach, VA to be closer to his remaining family. For approximately fifty years, he was an awning installer for AAA Awning Co in New Jersey. In his spare time Ed enjoyed watching Western movies, watching track team racing, and he also enjoyed listening to music.

Left to cherish his memory are his sister Inez Thomas Tetterton and brother James Thomas (Sandra); three nieces, Phyllis Ragland (Cecil), Karen Phillips, and Melissa Johnson (Columbus); and four nephews, Christopher Thomas, Jimmie Lee Thomas, Jr., Antonio Thomas, and Jason Plunkett. Ed was predeceased by five siblings, Earlene Thomas, Janie Maxwell, Carol Plunkett, Jimmie Lee Thomas, and George Thomas, Jr.

The family will receive friends for a viewing on Thursday, March 14, 2025, from 5-7:00 pm. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 am on Friday, March 14, 2025, at Rosewood-Kellum Funeral Home with burial to follow in Rosewood Memorial Park.

To my big brother Ed, I am missing you so much already. I enjoyed all the times we spent together. I will always remember us sharing good times. I love you so much. We will see you one day again.
