Elliott Oliver Meadows, 92, passed away April 14, 2013. He was born in Ocala, FL on April 23, 1920 to the late Oliver P. and Madie Elliott Meadows. Right after graduating high school, Elliott joined the United States Navy. He proudly served our country during WWII, the Korean War, and the Cold War. His service time spanned from 1939-1970. He was especially proud of his tours of duty on the USS Dallas, USS Chambers, and as a Chief on the USS Midway. Elliott was well suited for his 30 year naval career retiring as a Lieutenant. He then began a career as a sales manager for Mary Carter Paints. After working, Elliott decided to use his GI bill and further his education. He was a member of Old Donation Episcopal Church.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Esther E. Meadows; son, George Oliver Meadows; and sister, Birdie Geiger.
Left to cherish his memory are his daughter, Barbara Crofford and her husband H. Calvin; sisters, Elizabeth Bird, Annie Laurie Pearce, and Janie Blair; grandchildren, Horace Calvin Crofford and Bethany Elliott Watts and her husband Michael; and great-granddaughter Emma Elliott Watts.
