Evelyn Upton Nichols

Evelyn is predeceased by her husband, Aubra Nichols; parents, William Lee and Bertha Strickland Upton; brothers, James Gurney Upton, A. Gregory Upton, Sr.; sisters, Mattie R. McGraw, Margaret Barr, Mary Taylor, Edith Butts, LouEllen Nurney, Carolyn Cook and Joyce Hawks and son-in-law, George Phillips. Left to cherish her memory are her sons, Gary Wayne Nichols (Karen) and Donnie Glen Nichols (Linda); daughter, Linda Faye Phillips; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Evelyn was born in 1933 in Pitt County, North Carolina. She met and married Aubra Nichols and they were married for 42 years. Bowling and shopping at her favorite store, JCPenney was how Evelyn spent her free-time. She was also quite artistic, making dolls and homemade double-ruffle country curtains. Evelyn enjoyed travelling, Las Vegas and California were two of her favorite destinations.
