Mrs. Thompson was born in West Virginia and resided in Norfolk most of her life. She retired from DFAS after many years of service and was active in Prime Plus Norfolk Senior Center.
Survivors include her loving husband John L. Thompson, a son John Michael Thompson and wife Marissa; a sister Carolyn Boggs and husband William; a brother-in-law Okie Thompson Jr. and wife Carolyn, a sister-in-law Nancy Truman and husband Tom and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Monday, December 9, 2013 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Smith & Williams Funeral Home, 4889 Princess Anne Road, Virginia Beach.
A celebration of Mrs. Thompson’s life will be held on Tuesday, December 10, 2013, 10:00 a.m. at Rosewood Kellum Funeral Home, 601 N. Witchduck Road, Virginia Beach. Interment will follow at Rosewood Memorial Park.
