Frank Corillo was many things to many people but on the top of the list was loving husband and father. He passed away peacefully on October 25th. He was born in New York on January 20, 1924. During his 86 years he was primarily involved in sales and was successful because of his honest and ethical approach to his clients and customers. He always did what he said he would do.
A member of the greatest generation, he served in the Coast Guard during World War II. Following that he married the one love of his life, Kathleen T. Gallagher, and together they raised four children, who are left to honor his memory as a kind and gentle man who had a good word for everyone he knew.
When he lived in Northvale, New Jersey, he was asked by BOTH political parties to run for Mayor. He was transferred to Boston with his job before he could enter the political arena but not before he and his wife joined the all volunteer ambulance corps in the town and Frank soon became its President.
His career eventually took him to Virginia Beach where he found a home and remained there in retirement.
His wife, Kathleen, predeceased Frank in 2000. He is survived by his son Dr. Glenn Corillo and his wife Marilyn, his three daughters Dale Ann Corillo, Dawn Marie Manson and her husband Van, and Nova Jean Corillo.
He also has 10 grandchildren; Keith Corillo, Scott Corillo, Todd Corillo, Chad Corillo, Cori Trask, Casey Trask, Megan Trask, Kimberly Manson, Van Manson II, and Rebecca Manson.
He also leaves two great grandchildren, Natalie Jean De Castro and Alexander O’Brian.
The family will receive friends on Friday, October 29th at the Kellum Funeral Home, 601 North Witchduck Road in Virginia Beach from 7 – 8:30PM.
