

Irene Theresa Ridenour, beloved homemaker and devoted Navy wife, passed away peacefully on December 28, 2025, at the age of 97 in Virginia Beach, VA. Born on March 21, 1928, in Manchester, NH, Irene lived a life marked by dedication to family and cherished simple pleasures.
Throughout her lifetime, Irene was a steadfast caregiver, most notably to her late husband, John Edward Ridenour, to whom she was married for over fifty years. Together, they shared a life filled with love and mutual support. Her role as a caregiver extended beyond her home, reflecting her compassionate and nurturing spirit.
Irene found joy in the quiet moments of life, often indulging in her love for reading. She also treasured outings to lunch, savoring both the food and the company. These activities brought her much happiness and defined her later years.
She is preceded in death by her husband, John Edward Ridenour, and her two brothers and two sisters. Irene leaves behind her loving niece Sharon Dagonese and husband Tom, niece Kathy Anticola, several great nieces and nephews, and a network of extended family who will remember her fondly.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in her honor at 10:00 AM on Friday, January 9, 2026, at St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church. Entombment will follow at Rosewood Memorial Park. Those who knew and loved Irene are invited to attend and celebrate a life well-lived.
Irene’s legacy of love, kindness, and dedication will forever remain in the hearts of her family and friends. May she rest in eternal peace.
