Issac R. “Zeke” Thompson, 92, was a longtime resident of Virginia Beach, VA. He has resided in Naples, FL for the last 15 years. He passed away Monday, April 1, 2025. The youngest of four, he was born in Prospect, VA to William L. and Bessie Glenn Thompson. Zeke spent more than 30 years in Army Military Service both active duty and Army National Guard. He also worked Civil Service for the State of Virginia as Superintendent of the State Military Reservation, Camp Pendleton. Zeke was a proud Khedive Shriner, truly enjoyed the beach, golf and snow skiing. He attended Celebration Beach Church in Naples, FL. Besides his parents, he is predeceased by son, Kevin Thompson and a special nephew, Glen Herndon, affectionately known as “Foggy”.
Left to cherish his memory are his daughter, Donna Gladden (Doug); sons, David Thompson and Bryan Keith Fletcher. Zeke had 4 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren; special nieces, Betty Gray (Dick), Peggy Yancey (Roy), and Glenda Kellum (Neal).
A Celebration of Zeke’s Life will be held on Monday, April 14, 2025 at 1:00pm at Rosewood Kellum Funeral Home in VA Beach, VA with Rev. Don Phelps officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment with military honors will follow at Rosewood Memorial Park. Donations may be made to the Shriner’s Children’s Hospital.
