Jim was a loving husband and father as well as a proud grandfather. He loved the great outdoors. He enjoyed activities such as whitewater rafting, kayaking, hiking, horseback riding, cooking for family and friends, as well as square dancing and long walks with his beloved Janet.
Jim is survived by his wife of 28 years, Janet Carter; 3 sons and one daughter along with their spouses, Steve and Judy Sharp, Rick and Dayna Sharp, Linda and Don Welborn, Roger and Jennifer Sharp; 3 step-children and their spouses, Kurt Carter and Carol Mathews, Dave and Kristen Carter, Sharon Carter Bray; 12 grandchildren and 1 great-grandson; and 1 brother, Donny Miller.
