Jerilyn Fry passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Wednesday, September 25, 2019 in Chesapeake, VA. She was born in Brooklyn, NY on August 5, 1946. Jerilyn is predeceased by her loving husband, John W. Fry. Her love for God started at an early age. As a child Jeri loved to attend Glendale Baptist Church where she sung in the Junior Choir. She enjoyed pursuing Christ and had accepted Him as her Lord and Savior.
Jeri was an avid bowler and her highest scoring game was a 287. She had a big heart which led her to volunteer her spare time to teaching the youth how to bowl as well as volunteering as a candy-striper assisting with the elderly. She enjoyed spending time with her mother Shirley learning how to cook and bake which carried on throughout her life. Jeri loved to sit at her table playing scrabble for hours on end with her mother. Jeri loved to knit, go to bingo, watch Wheel of Fortune, Jeopardy and any cooking show on TV. However, her most treasured times were when she was able to go and watch her children or grandchildren play baseball or softball.
Jeri was a kind and selfless person. She opened her home and her heart to everyone. Her kids friends would even call her Mom. Once she considered you family, you were always family regardless of any situation.
She is survived by her children; Donna (Anthony), Denise, Doreen (Jim), Jerry (Amanda) and Janine (Jassen). Her grandchildren; Brett, Michael, Jacob, Jaycee, Allison, Megan, Joey, Jassen Jr., & L. J., and one great-grandchild; Blake. She is also survived by a host of step-children and step-grandchildren.
A viewing will be held at Rosewood Memorial Park 601 N. Withduck Road, Virginia Beach VA. 23462 on Monday, September 30, 2019 from 6-8 p.m. A services followed by burial will be Tuesday, October 1, 2019 at 10:00 a.m.
