Josie was born on July 9, 1949, in Manila, Philippines. A devout Catholic, Josie lived her faith through her loving and compassionate actions toward others. She was a devoted mother and grandmother who poured her heart into nurturing her family, always ensuring they felt cared for and loved. Josie’s warm heart and gentle spirit left a lasting impression on everyone she met.
In addition to her deep devotion to family and faith, Josie had a passion for music. She loved to sing and often shared her beautiful voice with those around her. Josie also found great joy in tending to her garden, where she could be found nurturing her plants with the same love and care she gave to her loved ones.
Left to cherish her memory are her son, Jonathan (Keithlee), daughter Jennelyn (Cedric), her grandchildren Julian and Jalen,her siblings Angelina Mariano, Adelaida Soriano, Aida Decipulo, Rudolfo Ibay, Virgilio Ibay, Jose Ibay and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends.
She was predeceased by her parents Juanita and Hilario Ibay, and brother Reynaldo Ibay.
A visitation for Josefina will be held Thursday, March 6, 2025, at 9:00 AM at St. Matthews Catholic Church, 3314 Sandra Ln., Virginia Beach, Virginia 23464. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:00 AM, also at St. Matthews Catholic Church. Burial will take place at Rosewood Memorial Park, 631 North Witchduck Road, Virginia Beach, Virginia 23462.
In honoring Josie’s memory, we celebrate the warmth, kindness, and love she so freely gave to everyone in her life.
