Lewis Clinton Pyles, 75, passed away Monday, December 27, 2021. He was the son of the late, Joseph Claude Pyles and Evelyn Roberson Pyles. Mr. Pyles was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force where he served in Lubbock, TX and met his wife, Delores Sanchez. They moved back to Virginia where he worked many years and retired as a Brick Mason.
Lewis, known to many as “Butch”, “Chop”, or just “Pawpaw” to his grandchildren, was an avid hunter and fisherman and never missed an opportunity to “share a bushel of crabs” with friends and family by his pool. If he had to be indoors, cards of some fashion were being dealt – usually Pinochle.
He is predeceased by his daughter, Dolores Evelyn Bozarth and brother, James Bowers. Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 57 years, Delores Sanchez Pyles; son, Joseph Lewis Pyles (Anne); grandchildren, Heather Ure (Ben), Turner Pyles, and McKenzie Pyles; and brother, Stephen Pyles (Beth).
