Norfolk - Mary Kvartko Dillon, 86, went to be with her Lord and Savior on February 22, 2014 while surrounded by her family. She was born on May 16, 1927 in Czechoslovakia and raised in Montreal, Canada, the daughter of the late Paul and Mary Kvartko. Mary loved to travel with her devoted husband, Edward. Among their favorite places were Dolly Wood, Branson, Missouri and Atlantic City. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, a devout Christian and an honorary member of Norview Baptist Church. She is preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Edward; daughter, Theresa Peele; grandson, Samuel Esleeck; and daughter-in-law, Rosalynne S. Dillon.Left to cherish her memory are her children, Deborah Fenton, Marsha Nash and husband Chap, and Edward E. Dillon, II; 9 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and numerous other loving relatives and friends.The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, February 26, at Rosewood Kellum Funeral Home in Virginia Beach. A Celebration of Mary's life will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday in the funeral home with burial to follow at Rosewood Memorial Park.
