Virginia Beach – Mary Kathryn Potter, 70, beloved wife and mother, was called home to be with her Lord on July 19, 2011, following a courageous health battle. The role of wife and mother was the central focus of her life and the most precious to her. Throughout her entire life, her highest priority and greatest love was her family. She gave so much of herself and willingly gave the most precious gift of her time, to those she loved the most. She was a member of Waters Edge First Church of God.

She is predeceased by her son Jamie and her husband, Gordon. She is survived by her son Greg; daughter Deborah; daughter and son-in-law, Susan and Richard Schlabach; and daughter and son in law, Sandra and Jim Moreland. She is also survived by her six grandchildren, Josh, Andrea, Michaela, Rion, Noah, and Madison; and 1 great grandchild, Hailee. She is also survived by a sister, Donna Taylor of Indiana; and two half-sisters, Peggy Foster of California and Sue Carol Willis of Arizona.

She will be especially missed by her “extended” family, Huey & Linda Warnick, Steve & Shelly Cohen, Katherine Sue & John Teed, and “Mom”.

Visitation will be held on Friday July 22, 2011 from 6-8 pm at Rosewood Kellum Funeral Home. A Funeral service will be held at 11:30 am on Saturday, July 23, 2011 at Rosewood Kellum Funeral Home, 601 N. Witchduck Rd. in Virginia Beach, 23462. The reception will be @ Waters Edge 1st Church of God, 4141 Holland Rd in Va. Beach, 23452 after the graveside service.
