Mildred Hope Elledge Lawson, 87, of Virginia Beach entered her heavenly home on Tuesday, February 19th, 2013. She was born on September 3, 1925. Mildred was the oldest child of the late Alfred and Lessie Elledge.
Mildred was preceded in death by her husband, William D. Lawson, in 1985. She is survived by her three sons: William Lawson, Jr., Robert Lawson, Philip Lawson and his wife Eileen Lawson; her three beloved grandchildren, Joshua Lawson, Jimmy Lawson, and Kasey Lawson; and her brother Wade Elledge and his wife Louise; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Mildred was employed for over 30 years with the Civil Service with Norfolk Naval Base's NAVNTO. She enjoyed her family and was known to always have a song in her heart and in her mouth, bringing a smile to those fortunate enough to experience her sweet smile and uplifting spirit. Mildred always had a story to share and a special warm hug.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate her life and home going on Saturday, February 23, 2013 at 1 PM in Rosewood Memorial Park in Virginia Beach, VA.
