Nick was born in Chesapeake on August 4, 1989. He was a graduate of Greenbrier Christian Academy and a senior at Old Dominion University studying Marine Biology. He was a member of Kappa Delta Rho Fraternity and London Bridge Baptist Church.
Survivors include his parents, Stephen & Diana Dilkes, a brother Christopher Dilkes and a sister Chelsea Dilkes, grandparents, Jerry and Ann Straney of Virginia Beach; two uncles Mike Straney and wife Michele of Melborne, FL, and Howard Dilkes of Palm Harbor, FL; four aunts, Terri Consford and husband Bart of Virginia Beach, Sandra Dilkes, Valerie Barnett and husband Gary all of Palm Harbor, FL, Marsha Dilkes of San Angelo, TX, cousins Robert, Amber and Bryan Peterson of Virginia Beach.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, January 30, 2014 from 6 to 9 p.m. at Rosewood Kellum Funeral Home.
A celebration of Nick’s life will be held on Friday, January 31, 2014, 12:00 Noon at London Bridge Baptist Church. Interment will follow at Princess Anne Memorial Park.
