In Orlando she worked at Orange Memorial Hospital, Winter Park Memorial Hospital and West Orange Memorial with a brief stint at hospitals in Livermore, CA and Flagstaff, AZ. After retiring from nursing in 1986, Olive studied for and received her massage therapy certification. She worked in several pain management offices, and developed a loyal following of clients. People said she worked miracles removing their pain and suffering. Olive was a member of Reeves United Methodist Church and enjoyed being a member of the “Knitwhits” making hand crafts.
In 1998, Olive moved to Norfolk to be near her son. She was an active member of Lafayette Presbyterian Church, and belonged to the Ruth Circle.
