Pat retired on December 31, 1989 as a Disbursing Officer from Fleet Accounting Office, Norfolk Naval Base and then owned a gift boutique, Earth’s Treasures, for 19 years. She especially cherished her life-long friends Barbara and Roland Beasley. Pat and Barbara have been best friends for 70 years.
Pat was a member of Virginia Beach Christian Church for many years. She and LP were founding members of Faith Wesleyan Church. She had been a member of Beta Sigma Phi since 1988 and was an active member of Torchbearer Alpha chapter.
You have never met a person more optimistic than Pat. She always had wonderful things to say and never complained. Also, breaking bread at her table was an event, literally, with the delicious homemade rolls that she never failed to bake until her eyesight failed her. She made everyone feel loved and special, like you were her favorite. She will be missed by everyone.
The family would like to thank Kay Byrd, her sorority sister and dear friend as well as another care giver, Ramona Grubbs, who treated her like a Princess. We also want to especially thank CNA Rhonda; nurses, Kendra, Lauren and Sara; and Social Worker, Kristi of Amedisys Hospice. They became like family spending time with Mom.
