Raymond L. Hart

Raymond L. Hart, 65, passed away on January 7, 2018. Born in Thomaston, Connecticut to Donald and Leah Hart, he lived most of his life in Virginia Beach, Virginia. Ray was a passionate man who loved life, his family, friends, and the United States Navy. CMDCM(SW) Ray Hart enlisted in the United States Navy in August 1971 and retired on February 2, 2002. Ray started his second career with HMS Host at the Norfolk, International Airport as F&B Multi-Operations Manager from 2003 until 2018. Ray was extremely loving and proud of his three sons, Don-Michael, Alex, and Zac. He is also survived by his sister Donna Sanford, of Thomaston, CT; as well as his many loving nieces, nephews, shipmates and friends. Ray was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Bill Hart. A special thank you to Janay Jones for her loving care and support. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, January 16, 2018 from 6-8 PM at Rosewood-Kellum Funeral Home, 601 North Witchduck Road. Funeral Service will take place at 12 PM on Wednesday, January 17, 2018 at Rosewood-Kellum Funeral Home followed by a Committal Service at Albert G. Horton, Jr., Memorial Veterans Cemetery in Suffolk, VA.
